Weekly Dino Fact: Koreaceratops go fetch!

Good boy Koreaceratops!

Hey gang, our dino fact this week comes directly from our old buddy Rex! I was going to write about one of the questions you left as a comment on last week’s post about Dunkleosteus, but Rex told me about Koreaceratops yesterday and it was too good to pass up! Finally a new dinosaur was discovered somewhere other than China, although Koreaceratops was also discovered in East Asia. Koreaceratops is the first horned dinosaur (ceratopsian) to be discovered on the Korean Peninsula. Koreaceratops roamed around the Korean Peninsula around 103 million years ago and is a cousin of the famed Triceratops… just much smaller and without horns. This little guy was about the size of a Labrador Retriever and like Labs probably loved to swim. Koreaceratops had long spines called neural arches protruding from it’s tail, what this means is that he had some sort of large fan sticking out of the top of his powerful tail. This has lead scientists to conclude that Koreaceratops spent a lot of time swimming in the water looking for food. Because he was so small, taking to the water was probably a good form of defense for Koreaceratops too. I bet he was great at playing fetch, Horns probably spent hours tossing a stick into the water for Koreacertops to bring back. I wonder if Koreaceratops could play dead and roll over too? Nigel Marven Turns 50!

You’re the best Nigel!

Many of you hardcore Webosaurs fans may already know this, but today is Nigel Marven’s 50th birthday! Nigel Marven is the star of Webosaurs incredible Webosodes and truly one of the coolest, smartest, most interesting dudes around. One of my Webosaurs buddies, Snarl, put together and incredible Nigel Marven Birthday Tribute on Trodin’s Webosaurs Blog and I wanted to share it with you. Check it out here. Even though he’s probably in the middle of nowhere and won’t be able to hear us we should all wish our buddy Nigel a very happy 50th birthday! Happy Birthday Nigel, keep rocking!

Comic Contest Winners

Mwahahahaha, I can’t stop laughing after reading and judging all of these amazing comics! Horns, Pterry and I just sat back with a big bucket of popcorn and went through the comics, we judged them one by one and let me say that not one of us can stop cracking up! Karaoke Party with Stretch & Horns – Saturday

What’s that arrow pointing to Horns???

Now talk about some fun! Our two favorite goofballs, Stretch & Horns, will be belting their hearts out singing some classics on Saturday. Get your lyrics ready, because we’re going to have some old fashioned KARAOKE!!! Not only that, but we’re going to have this awesome karaoke party in the Understory Layer at the Giant Umbrella, so the whole island will be able to hear us! Better warm up those vocal cords… ehhm… fingers though, because we’re going to limit each song to ninety seconds, no stage-hogs this time! Stretch and Horns have already told me that they’re definitely going to be taking requests from the crowd, so think about what you’d like to hear those lovable dinos sing for you, just no love songs, YUCK. Not to be harsh, but make sure you have a lot of pumpkins and bananas ready, we might need them to get Horns off the stage when he goes over the time limit. This party is open to all of Webosaurs so everyone is welcome to come sing with us! OH YEAH! I almost forgot, everyone who comes to this party will receive another special edition gravestone, I’m not telling which one though.

Special News Bulletin: Food and Poo’d relocates to Gushing Geyser

…now in Gushing Geyser!

“Sometimes when you see an opportunity, you’ve just got to go for it!” Stokeosaurus was recently quoted as saying such after relocating his Food and Poo’d Pet Shop to the Gushing Geyser. The Putt-Putt Hut’s long time lease expired today and Stokeosaurus jumped at the opportunity to move his shop to a more profitable location, “Most dinos just know me as running my dusty Town Store, but I am actually a pretty savvy businessman, I’m just excited that everyone will get to see the great pets I have for sale.”

Stokeosaurus realized that the Understory Layer was not an ideal place to have a Pet Shop because of it’s limited accessibility. The Pet Shop will remain under the same management and continue to sell the same great pets, just with a spruced up location. Stokeosaurus is hoping to see more of his pets go to great homes with the move, “We’ve got so many rootin’ tootin’ Panda Fangs we don’t know what in tarnation to do with them all!” Be sure and stop by the Food and Poo’d Pet Shop’s new location and take home a pet today!

Protectosaur Meetings – Tuesday

If you aren’t familiar, we encourage our Protectosaurs to meet up as a group once a week to discuss issues on the island and other items of interest. However, the meetings aren’t closed off to only Pros – they are more like Town Hall style meetings for everyone to discuss island business. Everyone has an equal stake in Webosaurs and we would love to hear what is on your mind. Topics that are on the agenda for this week:

• Organizing Parties on the Forum
• Putting your Webosaurs Ideas on the Forum

Game of the Week: Special Double Down

This week there was a tie in votes for the Game of the Week between Shoo Bug and Vine Swingin’. Instead of having a tie breaker to pick which one would give out extra coins we decided it would be better to just double down and go with both!

Luckily both of these games are located in the Soggy Bottom Swamp, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding them. Both of these games are single player so you can head to the Swamp by yourself to get tons of coins. You just might need help dragging them back to your cave! Game on!

Pterry’s Surprise Birthday Party – Saturday

Shhhhh it’s a surprise…

 

Hey bluggin’ dinos we’ve got an awesome event going down this Saturday, but we need your help! You may or may not know that Pterry’s Birthday was last Sunday, but we weren’t able to plan a party for him because of all the preparation for the MVAs Ceremony on Saturday. Pterry’s been pretty bummed all week, especially when I told him that we are throwing a party for international users on Friday and not for him. To make it up to him I told him he could throw a Quiz Party on Saturday… he has NO idea we’re going to surprise him!

Pterry’s going to throw his “Quiz Party” on Saturday at Jungle Beach, but he’ll be a little bit late. We need you all to show up and hide out over by Stretch’s Surf Shop, then when Pterry shows up we’ll all hop out and yell “SURPRISE!” and maybe throw a couple of bananas at him for good measure! Don’t miss out, it’s going to be a blast, everyone who attends will also receive a special birthday cake for their cave!
